Hör maskinernas sång (Hear the song of the machines) is a classic communist song in Swedish by the band Knutna Nävar (Clenched Fists). It's a workers song that celebrates factories, industries and the people working in them, as well as calling them and I think it's quite beautiful.

What I didn't know before is that the music for this song actually is composed by Buffy Sainte-Marie - it's her song He Lived Alone in Town that Knutna Nävar has put new lyrics to. This is something I found out randomly while listening to Sainte-Marie's album It's My Way!, where the song Universal Soldier also can be found. I haven't seen anyone online write about the connection between these two songs, but it's a funny piece of trivia.

On this channel, I translate Swedish communist and socialist music (most of it from the 1970s). That includes anti-capitalist songs, worker songs and Vietnam songs. Subscribe if you want to support the channel and not miss any of the upcoming videos!
