Lebanese Chicken Fatteh Hummus a Middle Eastern dish is one of the popular and favourite dishes in Arabian Gulf countries. Fatteh is layers of chickpeas and fried Arabic bread in a garlic yoghurt and tahini sauce with chicken added on the top.. Fatteh hummus can be made by baking the arabic bread instead of frying for a healthier alternative. Hummus in arabic is nothing but are very own chickpeas from the legume family and provides many health benefits.

Fattet Hummus also called Fattet Hummus or Damascene Fatteh’d Hummus is middle eastern recipe is mostly eaten for breakfast or brunch but it can be eaten at any part of the day, Its a great meal or a snack in itself and is a great source of protein for vegetarians if made without the chicken. Arabian foods from the middle eastern cuisine are getting very popular around the world, especially dishes like hummus, shawarma, Mandi , Mandhi, Kabsa, Bukhari , Majboos etc . Arabian rice dishes are also very popular dishes served around the world. Some people also call it hummous recipe .

In this video I am demonstrating an authentic and most loved Arabian dish Fatteh Hummus recipe. This Fatteh recipe can be served as a meal or a snack , for iftar in ramadan/ ramzan or even for suhoor/ sehri. Fattah humus can also be made with meat it is called Meat Fattah or Meat fatteh hummus and Chicken Hummus.

Lebanese Fateh is generally served along with fresh onions, olives , white cheese etc.

INGREDIENTS:
1. Hummus ( chickpeas) - 2 cus
2. Arabic bread - 4-5 nos or 2 large
3.Yoghurt - 600 gms or 2 -3 cups
4. Tahini -2 tbsp
5.Lemon juice - 2 tsp
6.Salt to taste
7. Pepper - 1/2 tsp
8. Garlic cloves chopped - 2-3
9. Green chili chopped optional
10. Chicken 250gms
11. Red Chilli powder -1/4 tsp ( optional )
12.garlic powder 1/4 tsp
13. cinnamon powder 1/8 tsp

TAHINI SAUCE
1. Sesame seeds -11/2 cups
2. Salt -2 pinches
3. Oil - 2-3 tbsp

Toast the sesame seeds to a light brown color. Add them to a blender and blend it till it is powdered.Then add a pinch of salt and oil and blend it till smooth and a flowing consistency.


METHOD FOR LAYERING THE FATTEH HUMMUS :
1. In a serving dish add a layer of fried Arabic Bread , then a layer of hummus and then a layer of the yoghurt mixture .
2. Repeat the layers again and then garnish with some red chili powder, cumin and chopped parsley or coriander .
