In this video I'm restoring my grandpa's old oiler.
I found this oiler amongst some trash that my grandpa wanted to throw away. It was sitting outside for some time so it caught some rust, but fortunately most of it was only surface rust so I managed to clean it with just a wire brush. The restoration itself was not so hard. The barrel had a few smaller dents and scratches so I used filler to straighten them out. The only problem I had was the semi-tubular rivet. I knew brass would probably crack when pressing, but I couln't make it out of any other material without a lathe, so I guess at the end brass worked well. I think the oiler turned out realy nice. It will definitely make it's use in my garage.
This is my first restoration project so there is still a lot to improve, but I learned a lot doing this video.
