How do newsrooms see their role confronting the climate crisis, the biggest story of our time?
Climate change intersects with every beat. While the largest outlets are investing heavily in climate desks, media budgets remain tight and climate editors must make tough decisions: Which stories merit coverage? Which stories best illustrate a problem? How to maintain reader attention in a time of increasing climate fatigue? What is the experience of covering climate like for journalists vs. editors?
This panel focused on the debates climate editors and journalists have inside the newsroom, how they apportion resources and measure success.
