Prevent Goat Diarrhea
Feed Sorghum Silage
One of the most common problems referred to me by native goat raisers is the high mortality, especially of young goats, due to Diarrhea.
Ang pagta-tae ng basa ay kadalasan nangyayari sa mga kambing na nakatali at dinadala sa pastulan sa umaga na may hamog pa ang mga damo.
The very high moisture of the grass and the irregular availability of consistent forage upset the rumen of the goats.
Kung hindi matigil ang pagtatae ng basa, siguradong babagsak ang katawan at kalaunan at mamatay.
Of course, there are remedies like sulfa drugs, such as sulfamethazine, sulfadimethoxine (Albon) and sulfaguanidine, tetracycline and amprolium or by giving goats with probiotics or Yogurt.
Ang problema papaano bibili ng Sulfa at Yogurt kung kapos sa budget maski pambili ng pagkain.
This is where the silaging of forage or farm wastes like Sweet Corn stalks and leaves which is harvested young or Sorghum stalks and leaves after harvest could be a tremendous help for native goat farmers.
In my farm now where I have two dozen Anglo Nubians and Lamanchas, I have started an experiment by feeding 8 native goats with Sorghum Silage.
Una, ayaw nilang kainin dahil nasanay sa berdeng damo pero noong huli, napilitan na din kumain.
Walang cases of diarrhea and gumanda na ang katawan nila.
With the Sorghum Silage Technology, I am sure native goats backyard raising will soon prosper.
