On December 17th, as the Perfect North Slopes snowmaking team was gearing up for the first snow making push in almost a week. Pumps were turned on and It was noticed that a large amount of water began flowing from under snow on the Ski Wiz run. With temps at freezing they new something was off. An underground snowmaking pipe had burst.
Within minutes a Piston Bully was sent to the scene. Scaling off the top layer of the already sparse snow base to try and locate the problem. Once located they began digging to find and repair the broken segment. Based on snow cam footage they were not able to resume snow making operations that night.
