A licensed clinical psychologist, Nancy Simpson teaches psychology at Trident Technical College. She credits her career path to her parents' professions— her father a professor and her mother a psychologist, as well as her own trauma and experience with mental illness. Growing up in New York, Dr. Simpson has called the Lowcountry home since 1989. She and her family live on a farm in Ravenel, South Carolina, where she raises goats to make cheese and bees to make award-winning honey.

Nancy Simpson describes herself as uniquely positioned to de-stigmatize mental illness because she has been on both sides of the locked door. With great honesty and humor, Dr. Simpson, who is a licensed clinical psychologist, courageously uncovers what can lay behind the milk and honey. Walking the talk, Dr. Simpson offers a personal testimony for the need to de-stigmatize mental illness.
