When we started doing reviews we were looking for the best bike for any rider. We've seen some nice low power bikes with decent components in the $1000-$1200 range, but not many we'd recommend as an all-purpose bike for a casual rider who wants comfort and versatility. Usually they lack a front fork, fenders, lights, and/or a user friendly interface. There have been a couple of decent all-around bikes at the $1500 mark, but nothing often those bikes are unrefined, unattractive, poorly documented, or totally unsupported.

To us, Velotric has come out of nowhere at what seems like an impossibly low price with strong branding and every feature we'd recommend to casual riders. Surely there is a catch, right?
