Panchghagh, the fall of five streams is located amidst five forest villages. The remote location of the fall kept it out of focus for many years but now it is turning into a major tourist attraction. Know more about the timings, tickets, stays, tips to visit Panchghah Falls. Panchghagh fall is located in the Khunti district of Jharkhand. It is the second least populous district of the state. Khunti is the birthplace of Birsa Munda, an Indian Tribal freedom fighter of the Munda Tribe.

‘Panch’ in Hindi means ‘five’ and ‘Ghagh’ means ‘Waterfall’. The fall comprises of five different streams and hence the name Panchghagh. It is located in a remote area surrounded by blue hills and five forests- villages, Kolamda, Kodakel, Kurki, and Ghaghari. It is an example of true scenic beauty.

The height of the fall is less as compared to other falls in Jharkhand. However, the streams make five ponds as they slopes down and it is said that during the last year of their exile, the Pandavas of Mahabharata hid themselves within the forest surrounding these ponds. People can actually take a bath in these ponds.

Panchghagh Falls and the area surrounding enjoys a tropical climate. Summers begins from the month of March and continues till June with the temperature ranging between 35 to 45-degree centigrade. The rainy season begins in the month of July and continues till the month of September. The winter season ranges between November to February with the temperature dropping as low as 10 to 15 degrees centigrades.
