1993 - Thornton - Sulphide Junction - Broadmeadow
It was about to be a whole new era on the railways of New South Wales.
New locomotives were approaching (82 and 90 class) and they would see the near wiping out of the still large ALCo locomotive fleet thast serviced the state.
Thanks to the incredible work of Brian Atkins, this change has been covered on video for all to see. Thanks also to Brian for entrusting us to share it with all our viewers.
Join us while we view the final year of those beautiful sounding, looking, and smoke making, beasts of the New South Wales railways.

NOTE: While it is all about the ALCos, other operations of the time will also be shown. Even the 81 class that were the mainstay of the coal road action at this time, would soon become far more rare as the new locomotives saw them cascade down onto other traffic.

* ALCo 35, 44, 45, 48 and 442 classes galore.
* Early 90s coal, freight, and passenger traffic through various locations around the Hunter and lower north coast regions.
* 81 class on coal traffic..
* Seriously high amounts of 'World Series' ALCo content.

This is what the internet was made for...........possibly.
