Installing pedals can be a little tricky the first couple of times you do it and even the most seasoned mechanics would have had to learn how to do it at some stage. Michael is here to share some tips on installing and removing MTB pedals to help you nail it on the first attempt, with all the skin on your knuckles intact.

Key Tip: The non-drive side pedal (opposite side to where the chain is) is "reverse-threaded" - it unthreads the opposite way to what you’d expect. You’ll need to turn it clockwise to loosen it. The drive-side pedal has a standard counter-clockwise thread.
