Our newly revised steering kit for 3rd Gen and early 4th Gen Rams is better than ever.
Using our new in house designed and built track bar drop bracket (available in stock height through 6”, as well as 4” through 12”) a perfect true crossover is possible. The track bar is longer than stock to match the drag link length. Way better than any stock or aftermarket T or Y link design, that are basically horrible on initial inception. No one else makes a steering kit as well designed as this.
A good range of travel is available with no bump steer even with stock control arms, but a much greater range is possible with our radius long arm kit weather lifted or stock.
This truck drove extremely well, he obviously has no trouble with wheel hop or axle wrap, as evidenced by the 2nd through 6th gear shifted burnout. He also ran the truck in dirt drags, and experienced no wheel hop front or rear.
Heim joints aren’t perfect, but we wouldn’t have anything else on our own trucks. They are sure better than a plastic lined tie rod end that is one good pot hole away from junk. The trade off is getting the bolts tight and re-torqued so they are set and permanent. Tapered tie rod ends do this more easily, but not anything significant for a trade. Just get the bolts really tight, (as much as you can put on them with a wrench, 2-300 ft/lbs is fine) and check them all again after a couple test drives. You will be set.
We always suggest spraying them with a penetrant/lubricant combo, mostly to keep the surface with a long lasting shine, but we also have boots to cover them with and grease. They are self lubricated but more is not a negative when it comes to steering part lubrication. If you drive in salt or brine in the winter, you are either going to want the boots, or smear them with a coating of grease for the season.

Thanks @stonebraker6.7 for the burnout!!
