It’s been reported that the parent companies of Peacock and Paramount+ (Comcast and Paramount Global) have held talks on merging their streaming services into a joint venture. This comes amidst shakeups at Paramount as the company looks for a potential buyer.

Meanwhile, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Fox have announced plans for a streaming service focused on sports that will launch in fall of 2024. This will air potentially 60-85% of all major sports but will notably not include sports from Paramount or NBCUniversal/Comcast.

All this and a look at the streaming charts, highlighting the top streaming movies and shows for the week of January 15th-21st. according to Nielsen.
