Before the Kurukshetra War, Krishna, attempts to negotiate a settlement with Duryodhana, the ambitious prince of the Kauravas, to avert the impending war. Krishna proposes that the Pandavas be given just five villages, rather than half of the kingdom, to avoid bloodshed. However, Duryodhana, driven by pride and envy, refuses any compromise, rejecting Krishna's peace efforts. Duryodhana's arrogance blinds him to the consequences of his actions, leading to the devastating war that ensues.

குருக்ஷேத்திரப் போருக்கு முன், கிருஷ்ணர், வரவிருக்கும் போரைத் தவிர்க்க கௌரவர்களின் இளவரசனாகிய துரியோதனனுடன் பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்த முயற்சிக்கிறார். இரத்தம் சிந்துவதைத் தவிர்க்க, பாண்டவர்களுக்கு ராஜ்யத்தின் பாதியை விட ஐந்து கிராமங்களை மட்டுமே வழங்க வேண்டும் என்று கிருஷ்ணர் முன்மொழிகிறார். இருப்பினும், பொறாமையால் உந்தப்பட்ட துரியோதனன், கிருஷ்ணரின் அமைதி முயற்சிகளை நிராகரித்து, எந்த சமரசத்தையும் மறுத்து விடுகிறான். துரியோதனனின் ஆணவம், அவனது கண்ணை மறைக்கிறது.
