Malaysian musicians and singing artists are getting fainter and sinking. Malaysian songs are increasingly being marginalized in their own country. The Malaysian music industry is currently dying and awaiting its downfall.
Malaysian people seem to be bored, closing their ears to the songs composed and sung by singers from their own country. They are more enthusiastic about choosing and liking the songs of singers from Indonesia. Most of them, especially young people, are addicted to the works of their neighboring country.
The invasion of Indonesian music into Malaysia began in the early 2000s, through the presence of phenomenal bands such as Dewa, Gigi, Slank and Padi. Their modern genres and performances as well as the quality of their music have managed to penetrate the thick walls of the Malaysian music market. Their songs topped the charts of almost all radio stations, and became new trend setters among young Malaysians.
Followed by fresher bands such as Sheila On 7, Peter Pan, Ungu, Wali, Nidji, Radja, Seventeen, Samson, Tip Ex, and bands of their generation. They are so idolized that their album sales sell well, and their concerts are always sold out by the audience.
Singers such as Rossa, Krisdayanti, Melly Goeslow, Agnes Monica, Afgan and Judika enjoyed similar things.
Waves of Indonesian music never stop entering and coloring the music of Malaysian society. Later, names such as Raissa, Isyana Saraswati, Cakra Khan, Nadin Amizah, Pamungkas, Mahalini, Tiara Andini, Putria Ariani and Salma Salsabil appeared. Payung Teduh, Efek Rumah Kaca, Banda Niera, and Stella Band, they quickly liked and gained fans. Malaysian people already love Indonesian music, which is increasingly diverse, advanced and of high quality.
On the other hand, the beginning of the 2000s marked the decline of the glory of Malaysian music and songs.
Different upstream, different fields. Different before, different now. In the 80s and 90s, Malaysian songs were successful in their country, and even boomed so they easily won the hearts of the Indonesian people.
But now, he is actually at his lowest point. Never mind being able to penetrate the fan market in Indonesia, to be able to survive brilliantly in his own country, it seems like he is having a hard time finding an empty space in a society that has already been invaded by Indonesian music and songs. The glory of Malaysian music and songs in that era is difficult to repeat today. Nowadays Malay songs are almost never heard anymore. They even started to be marginalized in their own country.
