And near the top of that list is Jayden Daniels…who I will be getting to watch in person when we head to Ashburn in a few weeks. I’ve talked about these Commanders a bunch this offseason and the job that new GM Adam Peters and Dan Quinn have done to reshape the roster…but it really all hinges on Jayden. If he has it, this team is going to be in the NFC playoff mix.

And so far…everything we’ve been hearing about Jayden out of Washington has been as encouraging as it gets. Here’s Dan Quinn on his QB when the team wrapped their mini camp a few weeks ago…

When you combine that mentality with the electric talent that Jayden showed during his Heisman-winning season at LSU last year…it’s hard not to get excited. I can’t wait to see what it looks like first-hand.

We know he’s going to have the receiving talent around him to be able to light it up right out of the gates too…the only real question I still have is whether Washington has done enough up front to set him up for success.

The Commanders allowed the 2nd most sacks in the league last year…and the 4th most QB hits. That can’t happen again this year with Jayden. They did bring in 3 new starters up front, but didn’t make a big splash, so it’ll be interesting to see just how much better they’ll be. But regardless, I’m amped to see what Jayden can do up close.
