Ajeet Cour was born in 1934 and she is world famous Punjabi Indian writer. She has been the author of popular novels and short stories in the Punjabi which are based upon social-realist themes. specifically, such as the position of a girl in the society and the experiences she has, in relationships and their status in society.

As far as her early education is concerned, she has done M.A. (Economics) from Delhi. She received the famous Sahitya Akademi Award in 1985 and the Indian civilian honour of Padma Shri in 2006.
