Stage 1 of construction a loft in newly purchased shed to help with storage issues. Framing of the loft & setting of the plywood floor.

First the top plates of the walls were built out to be able to flush mount joist hangers. This was done using 1/2" plywood and 2x material. The joists for the loft were chosen after consulting the International Residential Code, Chapter 8, which covers uninhabitable attics with storage. This lead me to choosing 2x6's at 12" O.C. (on center) for a loft of my span. This is slightly overdone, looking at 20 psf (pounds per square foot) dead load (storage) and 20 psf live load (people moving around in loft) but I wanted to loft of feel stiff under foot.
