Have you ever noticed that when you first start sewing with the Janome Memory Craft 8200 QCP (and many other models of Janome), that the stitching starts out slow and gradually increases to the maximum speed?

Well, after a while, I found this annoying. But I had no idea that it was a setting that I had any control over. That is, until I happened to be reading through the manual (yep, I read the manual) and discovered on page 26 that I could actually adjust this setting.

Hallelujah!!

Here's how to change the start-up speed on your Janome Memory Craft 8200 QCP Special Edition sewing machine:

- Go to setting mode by pressing the button with a little wrench.
- Press the MODE button twice to get to the start-up speed setting. The machine will display SPD 1 2 3.
- You will notice the "1" is flashing. That means the speed is set to 1 - slow. To change the start-up speed, press the cursor button (left/right arrow just below the MODE button) and the selected number will blink. Select 1 for slow, 2 for medium, and 3 for fast
- Press the set button to exit the machine setting mode.
