[1991] contains 12 songs and took Changsub a month to complete the recording. Changsub participated in the lyrics of two songs, ‘33’ and ‘As Always(그래, 늘 그랬듯 언제나)’.

To sum up the summer of 2024 in three words, Changsub used ‘Expansion, Examination, Endurance’. He took a 5-month break from singing because of vocal nodules due to overuse of his voice. “I've got a lot to put up with this year, most notably health issues. This is the first time I've felt depression in my life. I realised what depression is. The first time I said ‘I'm depressed’, I had never said the word ‘depression’ because I didn't know what it felt like. I've always lived my life with the attitude of “It's just like that. It's all like that,” but this is the very first time I've felt the difference.”

The lyrics ‘’내겐 쉽지 않았어 (It's not easy for me)” [from his song ‘As Always 그래, 늘 그랬듯 언제나’]’ have several meanings. Changsub puts everything from the end of last year to the release of this album in there. “When you get better after an illness, you get stronger. If you get sick and then get better, you become a little stronger.” “Now I feel like I can give comfort to others, my lyrics contain this sentiment. It was a message for my fans who might be worried because we're separated. It was also a message to myself.”
