-There are many specialities being sold on the way from Sam Mountain to Tra Su Forest. The most special is grilled frog meat with green tamarind sauce in Kh'mer style, this dish is a speciality in rainy season, the belly and the thighs of the frog will be stuffed with ground pork and spices. Then the frog will be grilled on the brazier. The sour taste of tamarind sauce and tasty frog meat make this dish a famous speciality of An Giang.
- I've also visited Ms.Kieu, a steamed rice cake maker in the region. The cakes are made with ground Kh'mer rice and palmyra fruit meat, then let them ferment naturally and the final step is steaming them. The cakes are risen up, and have the greasy taste of coconut milk and the special flavor of palmyra fruit. To serve the cakes with palmyra milk in the cajuput forest is really interesting.
- After visiting the cajuput forest, I've eaten at a famous grilled beef food store named Tu Thieng in Sam mountain. A dish of grilled beef is 10000 vnd. The grilled beef with kaffir leaves here is quite delicious and has special flavor of 7 mountains beef. Remember to grill the beef moderately, don't cook it fully or it will be tough.
