Lake Toba (in Batak Letter: ᯖᯀᯬ ᯖᯬᯅ) is a large natural lake in North Sumatra, Indonesia which is located in the caldera of a supervolcano mountain. The lake is 100 kilometers (62 mi) long, 30 kilometers (19 mi) wide and 508 meters (1,667 ft) deep. This lake is located in the middle of the northern island of Sumatra with a surface height of around 900 meters (2,953 ft). This lake stretches from 2.88°N 98.52°E to 2.35°N 99.1°E. Lake Toba is the largest lake in Indonesia and the largest volcanic lake in the world.
