Raghu Rai
Born in 1942, Raghu Rai began his career as head of photography for The Statesman. Member of the Magnum Photos Agency since 1971, his coverage of the Bhopal disaster in 1984 is a milestone. In the last 18 years, Raghu Rai has devoted his work exclusively to India and has produced more than fifty picture books on different events or figures of India. Padmashri awardee and laureate of the first edition of the Académie des beaux-arts Photography Award - William Klein.

Meet the Artist (MTA) is a permanent in-house programme of JDCA, where invited artists, craft persons or scholars through their illustrated presentations create an appreciation of all forms of visual art. Since 2001, 239 such MTAs have taken place on the second Saturday of every month. Currently, our sessions are being held online.
