It is said some people have the gift of seeing into the future; certainly many people believe in such things - and judging by the popularity of astrological charts and so forth it seems unlikely that it will disappear any time in the near future. There are, of course, people who are equally adamant in their denial of anything mystical. - one man I knew deliberately walked under ladders, and transgressed all kinds of superstitious taboos, simply to assert his faith in a strictly rational world...
