Recorded in New York in 1923. She did not record a lot of songs. She performed as well as an actress at the theatre. Not much is written about her . Perhaps she recorded four records for Okeh and perhaps this is the first. She recorded as well for other labels under pseudonyms like Ellen Coleman an so on. She was perhaps not even a devoted blues singer but she gives it a try so I included her in my playlist to give her credit for trying and she has her style.
