Turkey rejects EU, NATO to join BRICS. And nobody in the US seems to care as our media go silent.

Turkey is one of the most vitally geostrategic countries in world, bridging Europe and Asia. They are also a key NATO ally, and host to over a dozen major military and training bases.

Turkey just announced their intention to join the BRICS economic bloc. The BRICS group of nations includes Russia, China, and Iran. This will no doubt complicate Turkey's relationship with the United States and Western Europe, and investors and business executives who work in or with Turkey will face difficult questions in coming months. As Turkey moves closer to Russia, China, and Iran, how does that affect their business operations? Will the banks be sanctioned by SWIFT regulators? Can assets of companies doing business in Turkey be frozen by European or American banking officials?

These are urgent questions. Yet our major business news outlets are thus far completely silent on the topic, as searches through Bloomberg, the Wall Street Journal, Barron's, MarketWatch, and FT yield no relevant or timely news at all. Readers of US media are likely unaware of these momentous shifts of economic and diplomatic power, away from the West and toward the East and South.
