I wake up every mornin' 'neath the wide open sky,
No skyscrapers blockin' the sun in my eyes.
I saddle up my old friend a horse named Roan,
We ride the range together this land is our home.

Folks say I’m livin' in a time long gone,
But that life out there it just feels so wrong.
While they’re ridin' desks and watchin' their screens,
I’m out here livin' my cowboy dreams.

I’m a cowboy in the age of steel,
A man of the range and that’s just how I feel.
In a world of fiber optics and video games,
I punch cows, not keys, and I don't feel no shame.

When the stars come out it's a heavenly sight,
No cinema's glow just a quiet night.
In a world that's rushin’ I find my peace,
Ridin' through the fields my soul's released.

I hear the call of the modern way,
But I tip my hat and just ride away.
I’ll take the trail over the traffic and noise,
Livin' free on this range it brings me joy.

I’m a cowboy in the age of steel,
A man of the range and that’s just how I feel.
In a world of fiber optics and video games,
I punch cows, not keys, and I don't feel no shame.
