* The thrilling final moments of this classic game - Round 11, Saturday 30th May, 1992 at Princes Park. Broadcast on Channel HSV-7 Melbourne and called by Bruce McAvaney, Dennis Cometti and Don Scott.

* After trailing Fitzroy all day, Collingwood's final quarter surge brings them to within 1 goal of the lead.

* Magpie ruckman (and future Lion) James Manson kicks for goal with his trademark unorthodox action. His shot is rushed through for a behind. Fitzroy lead by 3 points with just over 2 minutes of game time remaining.

* Fitzroy backman Peter Caven kicks in to restart play. Brett Stephens' spoil is well roved by Collingwood's Mark Fraser who drives the ball back into the Magpies forward line. The Fitzroy defenders rush to take possession but misjudge the flight of the ball!

* Lurking behind the pack is Collingwood backman-cum-forward, Gary Pert. Playing his first game against his former club, Pert collects the ball unopposed, runs into an open goal and kicks truly! The mighty Collingwood Army explodes with delirium and a Sherrin-shaped leather stake is driven through the hearts of the Fitzroy faithful! Collingwood now lead by 3 points with 1.49 left on the clock!

* The Magpies attempt to soak up time by playing the ball toward the outer boundary line, while the Lions try desperately to force the ball forward. (50 seconds!)

* Collingwood ruckman Damien Monkhorst punches the ball towards the boundary but Fitzroy's Paul Broderick intercepts and kicks hurriedly to teammate Jeremy Guard. Guard is paid the mark and kicks long to the goalsquare. (30 seconds!)

* The pack forms! Fitzroy captain Paul Roos flies high but cannot mark! The ball spills! Fitzroy's Paul Abbot gathers but is tackled hard! (15 seconds!)

* Will Gary Pert's miraculous goal sink his former club?? Is there still time for one last act of heroics?? Who can save the day for the Mighty Roy Boys??.....
