Here are a couple of ideas. Please leave a comment and tell me what you think.

Here’s a really quick and simple technique to manage your climbing rope. This technique is based on the rescue throw bag from white water canoeing and has been adapted to rock climbing. A stealth technique has also been added because the rope is hidden in a reusable grocery bag and is covered with clothing so it just looks like a shopping bag, thereby reducing the risk of theft. There's a saying "Out of sight, out of mind" once people don't see something, they forget about it. The idea is to substitute something which is readily available and inexpensive for expensive specialist outdoor gear.

Rock climbers often like to show off their expensive climbing gear. Sometimes an expensive show off climbing rope bag isn’t necessary. Expensive climbing gear is often designed to attract attention and look really cool. Who would look twice at someone carrying a shopping bag. Just watch the rope come out of this bag. It comes out fast, clean and untangled. It’s very easy to buy an inexpensive reusable grocery bag--it works really well.

How-to Stack or Stuff The Rope In A Bag

Here’s how-to use the reusable shopping bag. I stack or stuff the rope in the shopping bag. The key is to randomly stuff the rope into the bag. Stuff the rope into the corners and into the middle of the bag. You are layering the rope in the grocery bag. Do not coil the rope into the bag, because this will cause the rope to tangle when it is deployed. The rope must be randomly stuffed into the bag. This is very important. The grocery bag keeps the rope protected, clean, organized and ready for immediate use.

Low Profile Gear

If you want, stuff a piece of clothing on top of the rope to hide the rope in the reusable grocery bag. Save yourself some money. In certain situations, this technique works really well.

Convert A Regular Backpack Into A Rock Climbing Rope Bag

Another option is to put the rope into a reusable shopping bag and then knot the straps on the bag. Now put the bag into a big backpack. When you need to deploy the rope, pull the grocery bag containing the stacked rope out of the backpack and then use it. The rope is ready for immediate use; no untangling or rope stacking is required. This technique converts a regular backpack into a rock-climbing rope bag. Again, it’s a potential money saver.

Use A Tarp Underneath Grocery Bag

It is also possible to place a clean tarp underneath the grocery bag containing the stacked rope. Tarps are inexpensive. This gives you more area for the rope to fall onto and protects the rope from the dirt. Don't let your rope fall into the dirt because sharp micro crystals in dirt can damage the rope fibre and eventually compromise the strength of the rope. Remember, a climber bets their life on the rope, so be very careful with the rope.

Thanks for watching and Have A Great Day!
