For the huge, new, Dweghom Stoneforge giant, I wanted to try something different to create a realistic granite texture (quickly, of course). So - time to head to the bathroom cabinet and find a toothbrush!

Thanks to Para Bellum Games for providing the model! It's appreciated, but might result in my starting yet another Conquest army!

Spraying micro-droplets of different colors of gray creates an interesting, textured "stone" surface to work with. The exact colors don't matter so much, but the paints used in the video include:

Vallejo Model Color Blue Grey (stone specks)
Vallejo Model Color Light Sea Grey (stone specks)
White (take your pick) (drybrush stone & gems)
Citadel Drakenhof Nightshade Wash (stone)
Pro Acryl Bronze (robot bits)
Vallejo Game Color Scurvy Green (thinned down wash on robot bits)
Army Painter Fanatic True Brass (highlight robot bits)
Vallejo Game Color Scarlet Red (gems)
Citadel Carroburg Crimson Wash (gems)
Vallejo Model Wash: European Dust (to match Vallejo Game Color Earth)
Gloss Varnish

I couldn't find the Dust Wash locally, but it's available on Amazon:
