WARNING - this mix does not contain much in the way of deep house or dub techno - what it does include however is an onslaught of foot tapping dance floor bombs. Not much for the head or the heart but a whole lotta bass and lashings of groove for the hips.

The last few weeks have been on a deeper, more considered slightly melancholic vibe and I think my ears just needed a break from that sound and sometimes you’ve just got to crank out some none-too-clever dance floor shakers (and maybe the odd guilty pleasure for good measure).

Having rinsed the ears out with this tear up, I’ll be back next week with some deeper heaters but for now turn this one UP!

Tracklist

00:00:00 Dan Fresco - Inch by Inch

Like most of this lad’s tunes this one is an absolute rump shaker. Nothing going on for the head or the heart his one is all about the hips. Just a slamming big tempo groove monster of a track

00:05:03 Dan Fresco - All That

More of the above.

00:10:50 Dan Fresco - Jack Me

One of several tunes exhorting the listener to jack their body. Basically what this mix is all about.

00:14:20 Jamie Silk - Work Your Body

One of those odd tunes that’s got a couple of sections in it that sound really arrhythmic and make you think your mix is out of time but then goes back to a completely different section and you’re like “oh sweet it’s still perfectly in time.” Also contains massive 808 bass and drums and a dope vocal. Thanks John for the tip on this one.

00:15:47 Pilot - Rumpshaker

If this mix had a name this would be it. Proper cool squiggly bass and nice trippy FX over great drums.

00:18:000 Ben Sterling - Planet X

A proper cheeky groove with a brilliant story of a night out ruined by the pesky guestloist guy. Always wants to cadge a fag, piss off lad.

00:20:20 Pilot - Freekazoid (Ruff Mix)

Ace vocal that grooves along nicely with the previous track. We’re all Freekazoids one way or another.

00:23:45 Dan Fresco - Lemme See

LEMME SEE THOSE HAAAAAAAANDS

00:27:48 Beau Didier - Let Me See Your Booty Shake

Continuing the theme of playing tunes with very apt titles, this Beau Didier one is a belter. I’ve slowed it down a lot here as most of his stuff is 140 but it still sounds great. I played a couple of his tracks in the week 7 mix if you fancy something a bit more techno.

00:31:08 Dan Fresco - Turn Up

You know that thing where you buy a record and you love every track on it and you rush home and basically play every tune on it a couple of times - that’s basically what I’ve done with this lad’s stuff. He’s one boiler room away from being massive.

00:35:06 Jeremy Sylvester - Shake it Up

Massive vintage garage stylings. Slammer.

00:39:00 Slaves Incorporated - Baby

Proper jam re-relased on those that knoe,.

00:42:00 Project 89 - Get To Me

A newer bit I just found on bandcamp, really relentless bassline and drums, I can see this fitting nicely with the deeper more trippy/groovy stuff I normally play, inhabits that great world between genres.

00:46:45 Kellie Allen - The Music Box

Another newer find, I listened to a load of her stuff after finding this and didn’t like any of it but this one is a proper little modern jam. Hopefully there’s more where this came from.

00:50:30 Roman - Waves

One of those great tunes that works well slowed down or sped up. For this mix I had to speed it up and it just fit like a glove with the Kellie Allen track. If you slow it down it has a really nice lazy but deep grooving bassline.

00:52:37 Dan Fresco - Scratching

See above.

00:58:00 Unkown - Unknown

A proper deep dig to close things out. Shout if you want to know what it is.
