Hello! In today's video we will walk through the Sacromonte and the Cuevas del 📍 Sacromonte Museum in Granada

On this walk we will climb a sacred mountain, the Sacromonte (sacred mountain), located on the hill of
Valparaíso, where gypsies carved their homes into rocks during the 15th century.

In the neighborhood we can find different cave houses where flamenco shows are performed, the zambra is traditional, a mix of traditional flamenco with sounds and dances of Arab origin.
The origin of the word Zambra comes from the Arabic zamra (flute). During the persecutions of the Moors these two towns united and enriched themselves with their art, this song and dance is inspired by Muslim weddings. It is danced with a blouse tied below the chest, a long skirt with wide pleats at hip height and bare feet.

In the museum we will see eleven original caves, themed with different rooms and jobs that show what life was like in Sacromonte, the origin of flamenco and the roots of the gypsy people.
