On August 24, 2021, Ponce Health Sciences University (PHSU) School of Medicine announced the expansion of its LCME-accredited Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program in St. Louis, Missouri. The inaugural class will begin Fall 2022 and will continue to further the university’s mission of creating new pathways to professional health programs for health science students from untraditional backgrounds.

Building on the work of PHSU’s Master of Science in Medical Sciences (MSMS), the MD program will provide the foundation of a medical career through intensive study of advanced life science, health science and behavioral science concepts, plus the completion of clinical clerkships across a broad range of specialties and subspecialties through a partnership with Mercy Hospital.
