Dr. Christina Charles-Schoeman - Myositis diseases affect the whole body, including organs like the heart. This presentation describes what we know and are learning about how myositis affects the blood vessels and the heart, which can lead to heart rhythm disorders and disturbed heart function. Early detection can prevent the development of heart disease. We will also discuss how vascular disease may contribute to damage to other organs in dermatomyositis.
