May 30, 2022 was a day of remembrance and gratitude for Waverly veterans, their families and community members who gathered at the Waverly Area Veterans Post to pay tribute to the fallen.

The outdoors program started with a Navy ceremony during which American Legion Commander Rich Miller placed a wreath in the Cedar River while the Honor Guard fired volleys in a symbolic tribute to those lost at sea. Two students from W-SR school band played the Navy hymn.
The program them moved inside.
