Kim Pan Gon resigned as Harimau Malaya coach, citing personal commitments during a press conference at Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya on Monday.

With his resignation, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) must now search for a new head coach to oversee the team's preparations for the Merdeka Tournament in September.

Pan Gon, who replaced Tan Cheng Hoe in 2022 and extended his contract until 2025, notably led the team to qualify for the Asian Cup for the first time in 43 years.

Under his leadership, Malaysia reached their highest world ranking in 18 years and won 19 out of 35 matches.
