My dear friends this one is for YOU , a little gift with a meaningful background on this Valentine’s Day.

We dedicate this song to the people out there helping those who have had their lives and health affected by this terrible pandemic … all the nurses, doctors, care-people, family members, ambulance teams, firefighters, to name a few, the list goes on and on. Plus endless numbers of ordinary people who give their best every day to bring a sense of ‘HOPE’ into other people’s lives.

All these people truly are ‘Superheroes Without Capes’ for me.

It is also intended as a special dedication to the people who have lost their loved ones, either due to COVID or otherwise, but it is no secret that many people have gone way too soon because of the pandemic alone.

It was around the middle of last year (2021) when Susie and I were chatting about the possibility of working together on a collaboration. Susie mentioned to me that she had written the beginning of a song whilst playing her guitar that morning, the inspiration for which, had come from an emotional reaction to her friend losing her parent due to covid. She had sent me the demo and it had made me really emotional. I loved it from the first second, especially as it had brought back memories of a conversation I recently had with a doctor about all of the amazing work that people like him were doing all over the world and during some of the toughest times ever. He actually thought of the idea to dedicate a song to all of these people.

Like I said, I loved the original demo from the first listen. The message of hope in the lyrics and the fact I was thinking for a while about finding a vocal for my previously released instrumental track named, ‘Not All Superheroes Wear Capes’. In my opinion, it was the perfect match when I think about the backstory of the collaboration between me and Susie. No question it was a great idea, so she finished writing the song and recorded the vocals so I could finally start working on it.

We both agree that bringing the two original ideas together has created something beautiful, that we’re proud of and we also wanted to include the acoustic version (with some lovely production work) as a free giveaway, as a BIG ‘thank you’ and to put out the message of HOPE to everyone.
