So often our patients come in with pain having had that area worked and stretched and strengthened, but the problem persists for months or years. When that happens, I think the area that is being addressed does not hold the root of the problem.

Josh provided a great example of this, with a chronic (over 1 year) pain in the left upper trapezius which I concluded was secondary to some strong adhesions in the latissimus dorsi and a restriction of clavicular movement. The trap is overworking itself into a trigger point pattern simply going through his day-to-day.
