On Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m, the Toronto Transit Commission held an open house at Harvey Shop, located at TTC’s Hillcrest facility. All proceeds from the open house went to the United Way.
Established in 1923, Harvey Shop is the major maintenance facility for the streetcar fleet, and component manufacturer for subway cars and buses. The event included:
-Antique Peter Witt streetcar
-PCC Streetcar
-Wheel-Trans bus
-The new and accessible low-floor streetcar
-TTC’s Command Unit bus
-Many streetcars and buses as various repair and rebuilding stages on display
-GM Bus rebuild
-Overhead truck
-Virtual Subway simulator
