This is me setting a boundary for myself. Stop using words like "man," "bro," "dude," etc on me.


I get a lot of comments from people who use these words and I understand that the intent behind it is good, but for me, I am asking y'all to please just address me as Jeff. (Please know that I still go by he/him/his pronouns.)

Sometimes I correct those who use these words on me and sometimes I don't. In the times where I don't, it's because I'm tired and it feels like a lost cause to do it because it's so ingrained in our society to use these words.

But I'm working on my boundaries and being more assertive, so I want it to be absolutely clear that these words should not be used on me personally. For others, it may be cool! But for me, it's not. Cool? Cool.
