Sport: Baseball
Product: Topps
Year: 1963
Cards in Set: 576

With bright colors and crisp images, the 1963 release of Topps is one of the most popular vintage sets out there, and a more affordable alternativeto the very expensive 1950s sets. It's also the first year with competion for Topps in the Baseball market, with Fleer releasing their first set. Topps sued Fleer over their release, ultimately forcing Fleer to stop selling their set before a second series was even released.
The set includes all the stars and HOFers of the time like: Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaaron, Ernie Banks, Roberto Clemente, Yogi Berra, Sandy Koufax or Willie Mays beside others. Key rookie cards are Pete Rose and Willie Stargell, only appearing on the 1963 Rookie Stars inserts but not with a individual card. That's the reason the Card with Pete Rose is the most valuable from the set, showing the floating head of the all-time Hit leader.
