Leavenworth Ziplines located in Leavenworth, Washington offers 5 and 9 Zipline Tours up to 190 feet high over Beaver Creek Valley and a 1/4 mile long zipline. This video was created by Leavenworth Ziplines using a handheld video camera with a wrist strap that I rented when I checked in. They use footage from my video camera with excerpts of what I filmed on 3 ziplines along with stock footage they added. I videoed what I was seeing around me as I zoomed along the line. At times, I spun in a circle and at one point I do point the camera at myself. Videoing entailed my holding the camera in my one hand with the wrist strap attached and pointing it where ever I wanted to and the other hand I used to hold onto the zipline harness for stability and to remain upright.

There were 3 out of the 5 ziplines where the video camera would work. It did not turn on while you were standing on the platform or getting getting hooked up to the line. It did not record audio.

A little while after you finish and return the video camera, you will receive an e-mail with links to the video and random still photos from the video. You have 30 days to download your information.

This was the second time I have ziplined; it was over 20 years ago when I last did it. I thought my two guides were excellent showing us how to put on the harness, letting us do the practice zipline if we wanted, and hooking us up to the zipline and slowing us down as we came to the end of a zipline. They kept the experience fun and gave us challenges if we did not find handing from a zipline challenging enough.

Mobility Notes: There was a steep hill to climb to the first zipline point. You will need to be able to climb steps and one ladder up to the platforms and balance on the stool as you get hooked up to the zipline. There is a metal loop you can hold onto on the actual ziplines as the guide hooks you up to the zipline.

The 5 line tour is approximately 2 hours with about 1 hour of actual ziplining time.

Directions:
Leavenworth Ziplines is located about 30 minutes from downtown Leavenworth in the Mountain Springs Lodge. Turn to the right when you see the sign. Park in front of the lodge and walk to the left. Enter near the bear wearing a zipline harness to check-in.
