I know that everyone has a different taste when it comes to cars, so I won’t judge you if you’re interested in owning any of these quote-unquote gems of the seventies—I’ll even admit number 15 in our list has that kind of charm only a mother could love.
The Ford Ranchero from 1972 started its run way back in the fifties, but even after almost twenty years in the market, it was still looking like it didn’t fit in the truck category. Adapted from a two-door station wagon platform that integrated the cab and cargo bed into the body, through years of legislation changes they had to modify the car to fit the new regulations, but the model ended up becoming obsolete by 1979 anyway—and not falling into the graces of the American buyer pool.
It eventually would develop a cult following, and a rivalry with the Chevy El Camino.
Both would rage a fierce battle for the title of least truck to ever truck.
