In April 1942, about 75,000 U.S. and Filipino prisoners of war were forced to walk 65 miles through sweltering jungle when the Japanese invaded the Philippines during #WWII. This became known as the Bataan Death March.

Since 1989, civilians and service members have gathered annually in New Mexico to take part in a marathon that honors the fallen and the survivors of that march. We have not forgotten their sacrifice.
