A nine-year-old girl is fighting for her life in hospital after being shot in east London.

Armed police and paramedics were called to the scene in Hackney at around 9.30pm on Wednesday evening (May 29), the Metropolitan Police have said.

Speaking to the press near the cordon on Kingsland Road, Chief Superintendent James Conway said that three men, aged 26, 37 and 42 were also injured and taken to hospital.

They say a person on a motorbike discharged a firearm near to a restaurant. The girl had been inside dining with her family at the time.
