Its urban profile is markedly eclectic. Spanish colonial, art deco, art nouveau, neo-Gothic, Italianate, Bourbon French and French academicism styles are mixed. For the latter, in addition to its building development and marked European influence in its architecture in certain areas, it is known throughout the world by the nickname of "The Paris of America".31
