Schoen on multiple occasions talked about how he still believes in QB Daniel Jones after paying him $40 million per year. Ryan Poles pivoted off Justin Fields after 3 seasons and still not knowing if he could be the Bears franchise QB, while the Giants are trying to convince themselves Jones can be despite him being a mediocre player at best. “The reality is [Daniel Jones has had] 3 serious injuries in 2 years. We need to protect ourselves. He didn’t have much of a chance last year. That’s legit. Our core 4 guys [on the O-Line] played 60 snaps together. Against Miami we had 3 f****** practice squad guys playing for us. You could have Pat Mahomes and he can’t f****** win behind that. I’m not giving up on him [Jones]. He’s under contract for 3 more years. The best predictor of the future is the past.”
