spoiler alert the sequel to Oscar winning tv show H2o: Just Add Water is actually a dark and twisted piece of dystopian scene fiction exploring themes of gynocentricism, care/justice ethics, ecofeminism, gaslighting, gatekeeping, and girl bossing, all without ever explaining a single plot detail. Titled Mako (Island of Secrets) outside of the US, pitched and presented as a direct sequel to h2o - Mako Mermaids is simultaneously the most interesting and the most horrifying show I have ever been unfortunate enough to watch.
