Replacing missing decoration with traditional compo on an over mantle mirror. Heating, pressing out with moulds, trimming and attaching the compo. Compo is best heated up in a bowl with some gilders whiting (this is chalk, calcium carbonate) This stops the compo sticking to the bowl and you if you put whiting on your fingers.
