Excursions railroads or scenic tourist trains try to preserve older railroad crossing equipment due to their historic heritage that they preserve to the railroad. Most excursion train lines are former freight railroad lines. Excursion railroads also have modern signals at crossings also for roadways that were updated and the old signals couldn't benefit the roadway anymore.
